Thoughts

John was a very special person who touched and was loved by so many, be it family, long term friends or business associates worldwide and made Mum and Dad and all of us enormously proud of his achievements throughout his life. Going to Oxford a first in our family, becoming a Partner in the Company he joined, working on projects with the World Bank, President of ICID, which our Mother so enjoyed on her visit to Holland, a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Engineer and Transport Staff Corps and then being Honoured with an OBE, all wonderful achievements and in John’s personal life, loving husband to Anna, childhood sweethearts from teenagers and proud father of three children Dominic, Simon and Jo. John lived to see Antonia join the family as Dominic’s wife and the birth of three lovely grandchildren Eleanor, Claudia and Madeleine. John was also close and loved by my husband John and I feel very privileged and proud to have had such a very special ‘older Brother’ as I always affectionately referred to him with much love. I shall miss him greatly. Christine Lucas ( Sister)

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
